As a researcher,
I’m currently pursuing my doctorate in Strategic Entrepreneurship investigating the role of Enterprises in Regional Economic Development at Leicester Business School, De Montfort University, UK. The research delves into the role of firm type (family and nonfamily firms) in determining the allocation of capital which alters the regional factors and process hence influencing the regional economic and development dimensions.
As a Lecturer,
I’m currently lecturing part-time at the department of Strategic Management and Marketing, De Montfort University. I’m tasked with managing tutorial sessions for third year module Contemporary Business Issues, marketing and giving feedback to students on their progress. I have also taught Research Methodology and Enhancing Research Skills to Masters Level students.
As a Consultant,
Also, I do consult on financial strategy, strategic development, enterprise development and family business management. This is both at the practice and curriculum development level weaving together efficient and effective, creative and innovative ways of problem solving and learning.

As a Motivational Speaker,
As an avid reader of motivational books, I found no other outlet than sharing my inspirations and motivation in life with others, whether old and wise, young and clever, or small and vulnerable. I have had several engagements where I have spoken to youth on matters career, entrepreneurship, setting goals in life, succeeding in life, succeeding in education, etc. I’m available to share my experiences, life’s endeavours and challenges in a transforming way that will ensure we all move closer to achieving our goals and living our lives’ purpose.
As a mentor,
As I grew up, I realized quite early the role of mentorship in ensuring progress and achieving one’s goals. Therefore, I purposed to take every opportunity to transform someone’s life either through my actions, word of mouth or one to one mentorship. This dream was set rolling in Campus where I was the team leader on Topaz Mentoring group which mentored freshmen as well as continuing students through their university life.
As an author and writer,
I have run a blog –AnOptimistMind-ediot– with focus in three areas namely-Social Change-An Idiot Abroad, The Winning Mentality-Optimist and Money matters-Entrepreneurship and Finance
An OptimistMind-EDIOTseeks to ENGAGE-DESTINY -INSPIRE & IGNITE- OPPORTUNITIES- with TENACITY. I simply want to (1) Engage your thoughts (2) To create your Destiny (3) Inspire and Ignite (4) Opportunities (5) Through the spirit of Tenacity. The journey ahead is not an easy one but a journey has to start from somewhere. From my ethics class in university it’s either “the means justifies the end” or “the end will justify the means”.

As an Entrepreneur

I co-founded Ennovation Base Management and Consulting (EBMC) which specializes in providing management and consulting services to start-ups, entrepreneurs, investors, family businesses, social enterprises and public benefit organizations. Our key focus areas are finance and strategy, information, communication and technology (ICT), Marketing and branding services, and mergers and acquisition structuring. I’m tasked in ensuring the delivery of high-level service, implementation of services and sourcing new clients for EBMC.

As an Investor

Currently, I’m the director investment and portfolio manager for DevSmart Investment Group, a group of ten dedicated and focussed teams that believes in investing today for a better tomorrow. I’m tasked with developing an investment strategy and managing the investment for the group.

As a philanthropist,
During a recent event, I managed to interact with George Wachiuri, CEO Optiven, who after a few minutes declared that if I bought his book “Soaring like an Eagle” I would describe myself as a philanthropist. This is because the entire proceeds from the book went to the Optiven Group Foundation that supports needy and less privileged children. Unknowingly, I have always had the desire to transform young people’s lives which I have done diligently over the years.
This desire to see young people’s lives change for the better led me to passionately pursue philanthropy, where I started a movement “Change Minds, Shape Futures” an initiative that seeks to empower young people excel not only in their academic but also in other spheres of their life by encouraging talent development in such activities like entrepreneurship, sports, Drama, Comedy etc. So far, I have closely worked with Square Mile (UK), Africa Nazarene University, International Psychology and Professional Centre (IPPC) and other stakeholders to provide resources, stationery, and counseling services to pupils of Kianjau Primary School, located in Kiandutu Slums in Thika.

As a philosopher,
I believe that life is a philosophy, that whether you consciously or unconsciously choose to live in a certain way, you are living by a certain philosophy of life. I choose to indulge my thinking to seek clarity of what my life philosophies are. Each and every day is lived to fulfill that very purpose that I was created for. I believe that in one reason or another, seasons upon seasons, and all phases of life, we shall be accountable to a higher being of our given purpose.

“Nothing has a stronger influence psychologically on their environment, and especially on their children, than the unlived life of their parents.”- C.G. Jung
“You will get all you want in life, if you help enough other people get what they want” -Zig Ziglar
“Prayer is not flight, prayer is power. Prayer does not deliver a man from some terrible situation; prayer enables a man face and to master the situation.”-William Barclay
“If you are trying to show off for the people at the top, forget it. They will look down on you anyhow. And if you are trying to show off for people at the bottom, forget it. They will only envy you. Status will get now where”- Mitch Albom

The greatest commandment: Mathew 22:37-40
Love your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with your entire mind.
Love your neighbor as you love yourself.

1 Thessalonians 4:11-12
And to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your own hands, just as we told you….. 12 so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders as so that you will not be dependent on anybody
1st Corinthians 13:13
And know these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
